Very Early 60's Rogers Dynasonic COB 6.5x14 Snare Drum with B&B Lugs What a super cool piece of hard to find Rogers drum history! This was my first time to own one of the golden oldie 6.5 B&B snares and it did not disappoint. Some drums just have that special mojo and in my opinion, this is one. The gentleman I purchased this from was under the assumption it had come from a school. With that said, it has seen plenty of use that likely produced the various shell scratches along with some soft dents. Some of the dents are under lugs and others are not. They can repaired professionally or if you're feeling thrifty, grab a bag of sand, a rubber mallet and say a prayer. Do any of them effect the sound, use or playability? Absolutely not! No more than driving a beat up Pinto with some dents in the body. The good news is, it's all there! The tall boy hoops (which are in great shape), Clock face throw off with "D" stamp and long arm, snare gates on both sides and a new replacement snare frame. The Lugs also look really nice with only 2 of them having a single crack each. Both cracked lugs have the same identical flaw (pictured) in the exact same place. It's a single crack line that runs from the swivel nut to towards the shell. They are on resonant side, and unseen. There are numerous solutions to repairing them should you choose to go that route. Rogers is also making new replacement parts for many of these drums, so keep an eye out for that option. The drum will come packed in a soft case inside a box with enough bubble wrap for your UPS man to punt it onto your porch with little fear.
